Celestino Piaggio (1886-1931) was an Argentine Composer. He belonged to a family of musicians in which his brother, Leonidas (cello; 1887-1942) and his sister, Elsa Piaggio de Tarelli (piano; 1906-1993) stood out. Like these, Celestino began his studies of piano and violin under the guidance of his father, Víctor. The solid preparation acquired from him allowed him, at the age of ten, to begin his career as a violinist in the orchestra of one of the many Italian opera companies that toured the interior of the country.
In 1900 he settled with his family in the Argentine capital, enrolling in the Buenos Aires Conservatory of Music. After being examined by the founder and director of this house of studies, Alberto Williams, he entered the upper classes dictated by Julián Aguirre (piano), Andrés Gaos (violin), Carlos Marchal (ensemble) and Williams himself (harmony, Counterpoint , composition and orchestral conducting).
