Berthold Tours (Rotterdam, Dec 17, 1838 – London, Mar 11, 1897) was a Dutch-born English violinist, composer and music editor.
The witches depicted here seem a pretty amiable bunch - far removed from those in, say, Verdi's 'Macbeth'. The piece, probably dating from the mid-1870s, is dedicated to Kate Roberts, a pianist active in the UK at the time.
